WATCH DESCRIPTION : Rarely up  for sale is this rare and vintage 18K White Gold & Diamond Ladies’ watch made by the iconic Swiss Piaget house. Piaget is renowned for its bracelet style solid white gold watches, and this one is a perfect example of such classic timepieces.
The white gold watch case and mesh bracelet flow seamlessly into one another. The factory set diamond bezel contains circa 50 brilliant cut high quality diamonds for a total estimate of 2  carat.
The bark effect dial is kept to its bare minimum: simplistic hour indexes combined with a horizontally brushed dial and blue steel hands create a minimalist watch face.
Behind said case back is the beating heart of this watch: a mechanical hand-winding Piaget movement beautifully executed and just serviced .
Piaget has always made technological innovation as one of its top priorities, and the creation of the 9P ultra-thin hand-wound movement with a thickness of only 2 mm in 1957 was a direct result of that.
Thanks to the incorporation of this movement, the watch case can be kept to a thickness of just under 5mm. For such a refined watch, its total weight still adds up to about 60 grams.

History of Piaget

In 1874, Georges Edouard Piaget set up his first workshop on the family farm, situated in the small village of La Côte-aux-Fées in the Swiss Jura mountains. Situated in the Neuchâtel region, the company was dedicated to crafting pocket watches and high-precision clock movements.

In 1911, Timothée Piaget, the son of Georges , took over the family firm. The company’s policy has been to be dedicated to the production of wristwatches ever since and has remained in family ownership since.

n 1957, the manufacture at La Côte-aux-Fées brought out the Calibre 9P, the first ultra-thin (2 mm), hand-wound mechanical movement.

Then, in 1960, the Piaget watchmakers developed the Calibre12P, the thinnest automatic movement in the world, with a thickness of 2.3 mm (made official by an entry in the Guinness Book of Records).

In addition to coin watches, ring watches, brooch watches and cufflink watches, Piaget created their first pieces of jewellery.

In 1957, the Emperador men’s watch was launched and since its relaunch in 1999 has become one of the brand’s emblematic models.

The company’s expansion led to the opening of a new factory in Geneva, dedicated to jewellery and, in 1959, their first boutique.

In 2014, Piaget presented the Altiplano 900P. At 3.65 millimeters (around 1/8th of an inch) it is the world’s thinnest hand-wound mechanical watch.[7]
