Simon studied at Salford University where he obtained a BSc Honours degree in Building Surveying. In 1983 he commenced working for a major UK property company as a Junior Building Surveyor qualifying as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1985.

He left in 2011 as a Senior Project manager to develop his other business interests. A lover of all things mechanical Simon fulfilled one of his childhood ambitions to be a Guinness World Record holder. While still managing his motorcycle shop its success  enabled him to embark on his final passion that being vintage watches.
